The lake at Warleigh Barton is in the heart of our family farm. We care about the natural environment surrounding the lake and the safety of the fish is our utmost priority.

With this in mind the lake is strictly for members only. There is an application process if you would like to be a member.

Warleigh Barton Fishery is a members-only specimen carp hunters’ lake. It has been stocked with Mirror and Common Carp for more than 20 years.

The 2-acre lake and smaller 0.25-acre pond host an average carp of 23lb, with a number being over 30lb. The safety of the fish is our utmost priority and we pride ourselves in the condition of our fish. The anglers must understand that they have a duty of care to the nature of the lake, its surrounds and to other anglers. This is not an easy lake to fish for a variety of reasons. Our anglers enjoy the challenge here.

Conservation is a priority for the farm, which extends to the lake. The wilderness is intentional – the lake is a world away from Plymouth and is a hidden gem which nestles into the valley.

Please note that we have a strict process for ensuring our anglers are highly experienced. This lake is not suitable for beginners. There are very few facilities here, and we insist on a maximum of four anglers at any one time.

Fishing Lake Rules

Bookings are made online only by registered members
Shared registration with non-members will result in a lifetime ban
Parking is only on the designated hard standing. (See Map) Please park out of the way of passing tractors.
Strictly no trespassing beyond the lake perimeter.
Take away all of your rubbish.
Strictly no dogs.
Visitors (including non-fishing members) are discouraged and are by appointment only - call 07969 070862 .
No bait boats.
Maximum of 3 rods allowed at any one time.
All rods must be in the same swim and the angler should be within sight of there rods at all times. No more than 15ft apart.You may not abandon your rods just because you have a remote buzzer.
No cutting back of any vegetation , ties it back if necessary until you leave.
Use of the punt is only allowed to free snagged fish
Please use 42"+ landing nets.
Please carry a Carp Care antiseptic or propolis kit to treat hook holds and wounds.
Unhooking mats should be clean and dry on arrival and be big enough to hold 30lb+ carp.
15lb minimum breaking strain to allow for weed pull.
Members have a duty of care to nature, fish and fellow anglers. Please be quiet and courteous at all times.
All rubbish produced during your stay must be taken off the estate with you when you leave.
There are no facilities here, please consider this before you arrive.
All unused bait to be taken away and not thrown into the lake.
